Lafayette F. Woody, 65, of 1830 Sixth Avenue, sales representative for a New York wine company for 45 years and a resident here for 31 years, died at 7:15 a.m. Monday in a local hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Woody became a representative of Garrett & Co. at Memphis, Tenn. 45 years ago and remained with the company until his death. He was born in Auburn, Kentucky, Nov 20, 1871. He was united in marriage to Ida Belle Stratton in Kankakee County, Illinois on February 24, 1908.
Survivors are his widow, two daughters, Mrs. WW Manning JR and Miss Willetta Woody, all of Fort Worth; a son, L.C. Woody, San Antonio, a sister, Mrs Effie Wyatt, Jackson, Tenn; three brothers, R.M. Woody, Memphis, Tenn., Eugene Woody, Miami, Fla., and J.W. Woody, Byhalia, Miss., and three grandchildren.
