Albert James Oswald Jr. was born on June 13, 1935 in Iowa City, Iowa; he was the son of Albert and Myrtle (Hampton) Oswald. He attended school at Des Moines Tech and graduated with the class of 1954.
Albert served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1958 until 1960 and was stationed in Korea.
He was working at Fawn Engineering where he met a wonderful gal named Ruth.
Ruth was deaf and Jim learned sign language in order to communicate with her and on March 18, 1962 Albert was united in marriage to Ruth Charlotte Olsen in Des Moines and moved to Ankeny, where they made their forever home. They were blessed to remain married for 35 years and enjoyed two wonderful trips to Hawaii.
Albert had worked for Fawn Engineering and retired after 45 years of faithful service.
He was a charter member of Ankeny Seventh-Day Adventist Church. He enjoyed reading Bible verses every morning to his sister Connie, walking his beloved dog,
Rob and enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and always helped unload trucks for the food pantry.
Left to cherish Albert’s memory is his step-daughter, Nancy Warner of St. Paul, Minnesota and step-son, Larry D. (Cindy) Kutzner of Ankeny, Iowa, grandchildren, Shelly Fleischhacker of Inber Grove Heights, Minnesota, Lisa Grundmeyer (Kelly) of Blaine, Minnesota, Julie Moryn of St. Paul, Minnesota, Colleen Fchimetz of Minot, North Dakota, Michael Warner of Little Canada, Minnesota, Mitchell D. (Sandy) Kutzner of Dexter, Iowa and many great-grandchildren. Albert’s siblings, Connie Oswald of Des Moines, Kathy Worthington of Newton and Walter Oswald of Des Moines.
In death, Albert rejoins his wife Ruth (Olsen) Oswald.
