Donna Rae Guenther, age 80 of Crofton, Nebraska died on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at her residence.

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Crofton with Rev. Timothy Podraza officiating. Burial will be in the St. Rose of Lima Cemetery in Crofton. Visitation will from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm at the church on Friday. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services on Saturday at the church. The Wintz Funeral Home in Crofton is assisting with the arrangements.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Marlene Boecker, Norbert and Karen Guenther, Joe and Gerri Schumacher, Wilfred and Donna Tramp, Francis and Lavonne Mueller, Jake Van Heek, Georgie Thunker, Francis and Carolyn Steffen and the Crofton American Legion Auxiliary Post 128.

Active Pallbearers will be Ray Avenell, Vernon Potts, Mike Nelson, Kelly Guenther, Casper Guenther, Hunter Guenther and David Wortmann.

Donna was born on September 3, 1938 in Hartington, Nebraska to Henry Joseph and Martha Elizabeth (Sudbeck) Langferman. She grew up in Hartington and graduated from Holy Trinity High School. She worked at the Heimes Bakery in Hartington until she married Norman Guenther on August 18, 1959. They made their home on a farm northwest of Crofton where Donna worked along with her husband milking cows and raising hogs and cattle. She and Norman lived a good life for 54 years until his death on February 9, 2013 at the age of 78.

Donna was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Guild, Christian Mothers, Catholic Order of Foresters and the Crofton American Legion Auxiliary Post 128. Donna enjoyed any time spent with her family, friends and neighbors. She liked playing rummy with her grandkids, playing cards on Sunday with her friends, putting puzzles together, word search, playing golf and was proud of her hole in one. She enjoyed her cardinals and finches and will be fondly remembered by her grandkids for her funny “one liners”.

Donna is survived by 4 children, Carleen and Russ Dendinger, Kevin Guenther, Dale Guenther and Gary Guenther, all of Crofton and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Norman and 2 infant children.
