Mr. Nowlin served in Naval Construction during World War II with the Seabees 66th Battalion. He was a Baptist.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Turner Wesley Nowlin and Ruby Johnson Nowlin.
Mr. Nowlin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dovie Ashlock Nowlin of Kingsland; two daughters, Sharon Nowlin of Fordyce, Bonnie Maricelli and husband, Joe of Morrilton; brother, Billy Nowlin of Sheridan; five sisters, Gladys Mitchell of Kingsland, Shirley McGann of Kingsland, Juanita Swann of Hampton, Sue Savage of Minden, La., Janie McBride of Beaumont, Texas; five grandchildren, Keith Maricelli, Ashlee Maricelli, Trina Cavaness, Karen Bailey, Kristy Merryman; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Benton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harry Puterbaugh officiating. Burial at Graves Cemetery. Mr. Nowlin's nephews will serve as pallbearers.
