David P. Yoder, 82, of Fairfield Glade, TN, formerly of Findlay, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 24, 2019 at 11:54pm. He passed peacefully at Cumberland County Medical Center following a bout with pneumonia. David was born in Findlay on January 23, 1937 to the late Richard R. and R. Lois (Wice) Yoder. He married Lois Anne (Hilkert) on August 6, 1955. They were best friends for 64 years. He is survived by three sons: Jonathan R. (Kim), North Baltimore, Timothy L. (Pamela), Grand Rapids, MI, and Gary D., Fairfield Glade, TN; 11 grandchildren: Jeremy Yoder, Jason (Logan) Yoder, Kalieb (Mariah) Yoder, Ethan Yoder, Meghan (Brian) Brinker, Trent (Kaylee) Yoder, Kyle Watson, Carter Watson, Jeremy (Brooke) Cotterman, Josh Cotterman and James (Alyssa) Cotterman; and 16 great-grandchildren. David was preceded in death by five brothers: Donald, William, Jim, Dale, and Harold; and two sisters: Kathryn Montgomery and Rosie Cornwell. David was a 1954 graduate of Findlay High School, where he played and lettered in football. David was self-employed and owner of David Yoder and Sons, Findlay, for 30 years. He also owned and operated Frosti-Bite Ice Cream and Sandwich Shop in Findlay for 10 years, before retiring. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandpa. David and Lois enjoyed riding their Honda Gold Wing for many years, traveling all over the United States. David followed The Ohio State Buckeyes, Reds and the Atlanta Braves. David played fast and slow pitch softball for many years and later sponsored many teams in Findlay. He was a Sunday School teacher and member of Calvary Baptist Church before retiring to Fairfield Glade where he was a member and Deacon of Fellowship Baptist Church. David was an avid golfer and lived on Druid Hills Golf Course. He loved to watch and talk to golfers that would pass by after he could no longer play. He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. Funeral arrangements are being handled through COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, OH. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 2nd from 5:00-8:00pm and on Friday, May 3rd from 10:00-11:00am. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Friday, May 3rd at 11:00am with Pastor David W. Melton officating. Burial will be at Knollcrest Cemetery, Arcadia, OH. A luncheon will follow burial for family and friends at Coldren Crates Annex, adjacent to the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 12 Westminster Court, Fairfield Glade, TN 38558.
