IRVING - Virgil Eugene Leavelle, 85, died Monday.
Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Ben F. Brown Chapel with Art McNeese officiating. Arrangements are by Ben F. Brown Funeral Home of Irving. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Llano Cemetery at Amarillo with Herbert Gipson and Lynden Latham, both of West Amarillo Church of Christ, officiating. Local arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Colonial Chapel.
Mr Leavelle was born in Tioga. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Jennie; three sons, James Eugene Leavelle of Houston, Harold D. Leavelle of Franktown, Colo., and Wallace Leavelle of Irving; a daughter, Betty Jo Kendrick of Arvada, Colo.; three sisters, Jewell Johnson of Levelland, Ruth Patton of Cypress, Calif., and Opal Bomer of Illinois; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
