He was born Sept. 3, 1909 in Ashwaubenon to the late Peter and Martha (Hall) LaChapelle.
He married the former Lucy Schneider June 24, 1939 in Green Bay; she preceded him in death March 24, 1983.
Mr. LaChapelle was employed by Wisconsin Public Service at the Pulliam Plant, retiring after 28 years. He was a member of the WPS Quarter Century Club.
He is survived by one daughter and grandson, Lynn Schindel and James A. Schindel Jr. with whom he made his home; one brother, Harvey, Wisconsin Rapids; many nieces, nephews and special friends.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers. Merle, Harris and Stuart.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lyndahl Funeral Home, Lombardi Ave. and Ridge Rd. Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stanley Browne officiating. Burial in Nicolet Memorial Gardens
