Linda Irene Barnes, age 69 of Sherwood, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and friends. A native of Franklin County, Tennessee, she was born on May 24, 1949 to the late Charles and Pauline (Jackson) Barnes. Linda had previously been employed in bank operations at First American and Regions Banks and was a minister in Tennessee and Kentucky. She was a devoted member of Sherwood Emmanuel Apostolic Church where when she was younger served as the youth leader for the Emmanuel Apostolic Organization. In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her sisters, Charlcie Barnes and Teresa Wiseman; and sister-in-law, Beverly Barnes. She is survived by her sister, Susan (Bob) Prince; brothers, David Barnes, Clinton (Imogene) Barnes, Tony (Mary) Barnes, and Marvin (Tammy) Barnes; nieces and nephews, Todd (Stephanie), Derrick, Clint (Kelly), Rodney (Wendy), Olivia, Heather (Bryan), Chris (Darlene), Jenny (Sid), Becky (Mikey), Brittany (Patrick), Tyler (Stephanie), Justin (Emma), and Heath; great-nieces and nephews, Nora, Noah, Taylor, Cameron, Lily, Kayla, Alaina, Isabella, Mia, Preston, Anna, Morgan, Max, Garrison, Nathan, Patrick, Charlie, Mason, Maya, Bo, Sydney, Kendall, Lula, and Cayson. Visitation will be from 5-8pm Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 2, 2019 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Michael Hill and Bro. Clint Barnes Jr officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
