Catherine W. Woltering, 71, passed away July 10th in Plano, Texas. Sister of Mary P. and Dean Bunce, Ella P. and William H. Mendez, MD and Ann L. Woltering, she is preceded in death by her loving parents, Stanley J. Woltering and Ella E. Hafertepen Woltering, and her niece and nephew Dawn & Stephen Bunce. "Cathy" leaves 11 Nieces & Nephews, 24 Great Nieces & Nephews, 7 Great Great Nieces and Nephews + 2 soon to be born.

In life she traveled all over the world as a Flight Attendant for American Airlines, and most notably guarded the lives of 189 passengers on board American Airlines Flight 102, when it was struck by lightning en route from Honolulu to Dallas, Fort Worth, while landing. Cathy worked heroically that night and ensured that every passenger and crew member made it to safety from the wreckage.

She was a light in every room she walked into, and is remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her jokes, as well as her charismatic and entertaining presence. She was a loving woman and will be dearly missed.
