Australian Infantry AIF Age 25∼Alfred served with the Home Service of the Australian Infantry, A.I.F. He was 25. He was accepted for commemoration as war dead on 24th February 2012 and his name was immediately added to the Australian Book of Remembrance. The Australian Book of Remembrance, located in the Australian Capital Territory, commemorates Australian casualties of the two World Wars who were not formerly recorded by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. The men and women remembered therein are presently commemorated solely by their database and register entry. The Office of Australian War Graves will continue to investigate the grave location details and advise the Commission accordingly. In most cases, the grave location is actually known at the time of acceptance, but the verification process can take as long as three years.

As at 7th October 2014, there are 34 recorded casualties.

Son of Mary Ann Knapman & William Samuel Clare.

Father William Samuel Clare (1855-1894)

Mother Mary Ann Knapman (1855-1925)
