Rhea (Sourifman) Caplin, of Burnwood Drive, Bloomfield, wife of Joel Caplin, died Sunday (August 15, 1999). She was born in Jersey City, NJ, daughter of Esther (Rosenthal) Sourifman and the late Saul Sourifman, and was a graduate of Adelphi University. She was a registered nurse and a member of the Jewish Nurses Association, Beth Hillel Synagogue, and many other philanthropic organinzations. Besides her mother of Lakehurst, NJ, and her husband, she is survived by two sons, Daniel A. Caplin of Atlanta, GA, Paul L. Caplin, at home; two sisters, Janice Rosenkrans of Cranford, NJ, Ilene Freedman of Raleigh, NC. Funeral services will be TODAY, 2:30 p.m., in the chapel of the Weinstein Mortuary, 640 Farmington Ave., with burial in Beth Hillel Synagogue Cemetery, East Granby. Shiva will be observed at her home. Memorial contributions may be made to the UCONN Cancer Research Fund, c/o the development office, University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington 06032.
