Frank M. Ballou, aged 73 years, residing at 1816 Broadway, was fatally injured this morning at 9 o'clock at the corner of Eighteenth and North Streets, when he fell a distance of fifteen feet from a shade tree striking the cement sidewalk. Mr. Ballou was engaged in trimming several trees in front of the residence of Bert Hankee at 1801 North Street, when a limb on which he was standing, broke beneath his weight, throwing him to the sidewalk. Ballou suffered a fracture of the skull succumbing to his injuries without regaining consciousness at the family home three hours later.
