Illness Kills Sheriff Aide

A Kanawha County deputy sheriff died Friday in Laird Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

He was Henry Lee Barron of Morris Drive, Montgomery, who was appointed a deputy last January by Sheriff G. Kemp Melton and assigned to duty at the county jail.

Mr. Barron was a veteran of World War II and a member of Don Wood Baptist Church.

Surviving are his widow, Gladys; daughter, Regina at home; sons, Henry Jr., Edgar, Dewayne and Albert at home; stepsons, Jerry and Robert of Montgomery; sisters, Mrs. Cora Leonard of Montgomery, Mrs. Gertrude Cashwell of Longacre; brothers, Willis and Thomas Barron of Montgomery.

The body is at Anderson-Hairston Funeral Home, Montgomery.
