COLUMBIA -- A Mass of Christian Burial for Gertrude Wright Johnson , 84, of Columbia, will be celebrated at St. Peter's Catholic Church at 11 o'- clock Saturday, September 8, 2007, with Monsignor Leigh A. Lehocky officiating. Burial will be held in St.

Peter's Church Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening from 6:00 until 6:30 with the visitation to follow at Shives Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be St. Peter's Five O Plus Club and Olympia High School alumni members. Donations in her memory may be made St. Peter's Catholic Church Building Fund, 1529 Assembly St., Columbia, SC 29201.

Mrs. Johnson died Wednesday, September 5, 2007. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Elias L. Wright and Agnes E. Senn Wright. She was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and former member of the Board of Diocesan Council of Catholic Women, and the Virgin Mary Sodality of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Mrs. Johnson was an alumnus of Olympia High School, where she was Valedictorian of her class. She enjoyed volunteering in numerous organizations during her lifetime in Columbia.

Survivors include her husband, Richard T. Johnson of Columbia; son, Thomas D. Stanley, Sr. and wife Susan of Orangeburg; daughter, Melanie S. Flowe and husband David of Charlotte; stepsons, Steve Johnson and wife Cheryll of Columbia, Rick Johnson of Chapin; grandchildren, Raymund Michael Flowe, Dustin William Flowe, David Ray Flowe II, Hollie Rebecca Flowe, T. Douglas Campbell, Jr., Jaime Faye Stuck and husband Charles, Anthony Wayne Stanley and wife Julie, Thomas David Stanley, Jr. and wife Michelle, Richard Stanley, Rebecca Banner, Mary Ann Stanley, William Joseph Stanley, Jr., Karen Marie Stanley; stepgrandchildren, Matthew Johnson , Sarah Johnson , and Rick Johnson , Jr.; as well as nineteen great-grandchildren. Those who preceded her in death include her first husband, William Norton Stanley and son, William Joseph Stanley, Sr.
