Thomas Bishop was married to Nancy Southard. Their son was Cyrus Bishop. His parents were William Bishop and Catherine Swearingen. Thomas died in the Battle of Missionary Ridge in th Civil War at Chattanooga, TN. Nancy remarried Rueben Bennett but died in 1872 and is said to be buried next to her first husband Thomas Bishop. His grave is in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The 2nd stone is a memorial at Mount Pleasant Cemetery aka Apple cemetery, Lewistown, Fulton Co., IL., where Nancy Bishop Bennett is buried.
