Enlisted, February 25, 1901, in Troop 2, Squadron A, NYNG, New York City. He served in Troop 2 till discharged, December 18, 1903.
Enlisted, February 2, 1912, in Troop L, 1st Cavalry ( Squadron A ), NYNG, New York City. Troop C reorganized into Machine Gun Troop in 1914. He mustered in for service on the Mexican border with MG Troop, June 30, 1916. Squadron A was assigned to Camp McAllen, Texas, as part of the 6th New York Division ( later to be the 27th Division ). He returned to New York with Squadron A, December 23, 1916, and mustered out of border service, December 28, 1916.
