She had seven siblings, namely: Rosa, William P, Catherine, Helen, George Joseph, Loretta E, and Edwin August. She died in Dec 1969 in Oldenburg, Franklin, Indiana.
Entrance: April 17, 1914
Sister Anna Marie served in the classroom for fifty-two years. She taught the intermediate grades and was looked upon by her students as a firm disciplinarian. Neverless, she could take time from her teaching to enjoy with them a joke or a humorous incident of the classroom.
Here at the Motherhouse, Sister Anna Marie was exemplary in her attendance at community exercises, exercises of both community living and of community prayer. She was not a great conversationalist in a large group, but in a smaller group Sister contributed her share to the conversation, was at ease in the group, and enjoyed being a part of it.
With the death of Sister Anna Marie, the active apostolate of the three Metzler Sisters have been brought to a close. Yet, we believe that Sister Valeria, Sister Rose Angela, and Sister Anna Marie amid their joyous reunion in Heaven will continue to serve the Sisters of Saint Francis of Oldenburg through their intercession at the throne of God.
