Born in Stafford Springs, the daughter of the late Harry J. and Helen J. (Scheiner) Ellsworth, she grew up and lived in East Windsor before moving to East Hartford.
Jean was a graduate of the Class of 1957, which was the first graduating class of East Windsor High School.
She was a longtime member of the Windsorville United Methodist Church.
Jean enjoyed a successful career at Metropolitan Insurance Co. for many years before retiring to become a full-time mom. Jean was also a compassionate caregiver/companion as her friends and neighbors aged.
She enjoyed her flower garden and watching "Days of Our Lives."
She is survived by her loving daughter and caregiver, Lori Wilson of East Hartford; her two grandsons, Stephen and Anthony Dorn of East Hartford; three sisters, Beryl Wilson of East Windsor, Carolyn Cowles of Windsor Locks, and Gladys Nolan of Enfield, and was especially close to great-nieces, Sara and Kelly, and Goddaughter Becky, and great-niece, Mandy.
She was predeceased by her brother, Grant Ellsworth; two sisters, Harriet Cooley and Virginia Bergstrom; and a very special nephew, Kenny Wilson.
Graveside services were held in Ellington Center Cemetery, Ellington.
