Died at her home Monday afternoon, January 13, 1997 after a short illness. She was 77. Alice (as she was known in the community of Akron) moved here with her husband Henry Edward Nowlen in 1970, coming from West Bloomfield. She was born July 9, 1919 in Detroit to the late Edward and Edith (Hodges).
Upon settling in Akron, she had worked for the Plastech Company in Caro. Her husband passed away in 1984. She was of the Protestant faith. She was affiliated with the V.F.W. Post #7486, was on the Churchill's Dart League and was the official cheerleader of Churchill's Pool Club. Survivors include six sons, Dale (Judy) of Tucson, Arizona, Dennis E. (Sandra) of Byron, James J. of Florida, E. Michael (Jean) of West Bloomfield, Lewis W. of West Bloomfield,Jeffery (Cindy) of Akron; three daughters, Carol (Taft) Taylor of Byron, Terry Collier of Akron and Lori Martin of Saginaw; 25 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Henry and a son, Timothy in 1981. Funeral service will be held from Peace Rose Funeral Home, Briggs-Trenerry Chapel at 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) with Taft and Michael Taylor officiating with burial in Indianfields Cemetery, Caro. Friends may call at Brigg-Trenerry Chapel of Akron from 11 a.m. today (Wednesday) until time of service. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Bay City.
