Reverend Glen Parton, 85 of Sevierville, received his Heavenly reward on Sunday, May 12, 2019.

Born March 11, 1934, Reverend Parton lived a very simple Christian life. His Godly walk preached his funeral while he was on earth. He was a dedicated man of God and minister for the majority of his life. He held many positions in the church and was still holding an active position at New Life Church of God. He was an employee of the Sevier County Board of Education for 49 years. He was inducted into the Educators Hall of Fame in 2011. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the joys of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Cora Parton; brothers, Carl, Wayne, and Gene Parton; and in-laws, James and Frankie Franklin.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Jimmie Louise Parton; sons, Rev. Timothy Parton and wife Gale, Rev. Donald Parton and wife Jennifer, Scotty Parton and wife Becky, and Rev. Greg Parton and wife Cortney; grandchildren, Kim Parton, Pam Fultz, Amanda Parton, Josh Parton, Krystle Wynn, Kayla Mills, Kyle Hawkins, Deven Denney, and Bentley Parton; 22 great-grandchildren; brothers, Bufford and Leroy Parton; sisters, Edith, Gladys, and Helen; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends 4-6:45 PM Thursday with a funeral service to follow at 7 PM in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Rose officiating. Interment 11 AM Friday in Middle Creek Cemetery.
