Celestine "Sally" F. Abbott, nee Lake , aged 72, of Grand Rapids, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2007 and will be spending Christmas with the Lord.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, George, Orson, Morrison, and Gaylord and by sister, Ammie.

She is survived by her husband, Stanley J.; son, Craig Dawn Abbott; daughter, Cynthia Abbott and her fiancé Bob Erlenbusch; grandchildren, Ian and Emma Abbott; brothers, Leo Louise Lake, Hersel Margaret Lake, and L.G. Lake.

Sally was a longtime member of the Open Bible Church. She retired from the Grand Rapids Public School System after 25 years of service and was a world traveler who enjoyed collecting puzzles, clocks and magnets.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 11:00 a.m. at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel with Pastor Dan Spaulding officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral chapel to greet friends and relatives on Tuesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Open Bible Church or to the American Cancer Society.
