Ron and his family moved from Los Angeles to Remsen, Iowa, in 1958, and Ron attended Remsen St. Mary's High School from 1958 to 1960.

Ron attended Westmar College for a year, then transferred to Iowa State University, where he earned a business degree in Industrial Management.

Ron lived in Los Angeles and Manhattan Beach before settling in Redondo Beach.

Ron was an electrician who owned his own company, Fuzzy’s Electric. He previously worked for Union Oil.

Ron was drafted into the US Army and served in the United States for 2 years.

Ron was a marathon runner and story teller. He had many friends. Besides running, his other hobbies included reading and hiking.
