Robert W. Bennett was born September 10, 1935 and passed in his hometown of Florissant in the early hours of May 16th. He grew up in Ft. Smith, Arkansas and eventually built his life in Florissant, Mo. He was a jet engine mechanic in the United States Air Force and went on to work for McDonnell Douglas, Ozark Airlines, TWA and American Airlines. Along with being a skilled jet engine mechanic, he obtained his business degree, mechanics degree and his pilot’s license. His passion for flight extended to his hobbies as well and he loved to build and fly model airplanes as part of his model airplane club.
He is survived by his beloved wife Linda Bennett of Florissant; his daughter Liz (Gabe) Zwilling of O’Fallon; his granddaughter Ashley (Nick) Jennings; his grandsons Logan and Luke Zwilling; and his great-grandson Emmett Jennings. Robert was loved for his kind spirit, his sense of humor, and his devotion as a husband and father. He will be dearly missed.
