passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the age of 97.
Born in Louisville on January 11, 1924 to Louis and Mary Kosse, married Stanley Kalkhof August 16, 1947.
Mary Magdalen lovingly raised three children, Barbara Kalkhof, Martha Hartman (Mike), and Skip Kalkhof (Marirose). She was a proud grandma to Stephen Heffernan (Amy), Michael Hartman (Anna), Maggie Hartman, Wes Kalkhof (Katie), and Trisha Kalkhof; and great grandma to Joseph, Kiera and Karly Hefferman and Andi Kalkhof. She is also survived by her sister, Birdie Ogburn; and brother, Louis "Bud" Kosse; numerous nieces and nephews; and eight great grand dogs with her special companion Sadie.
Mary Magdalen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley; her brother, Bernard Kosse; and sister, Jean Kosse.
Mary was a charter member of St. Stephen Martyr Catholic Church, where she was the bookkeeper and secretary there for 30 years. She was a wonderful quilter and seamstress.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 Noon Friday at St. Stephen Martyr Church, 2931 Pindell Avenue with private entombment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Thursday and after 10 a.m. Friday at Embry-Bosse Funeral Home, 2723 Preston Highway.
