Jo Ella (Perry) Gershanoff, 80, of Mooresville, passed away on May 17, 2019 at The Springs of Mooresville. She was born on October 2, 1938 in St. Charles, VA to the late Cline Perry and Jennie (Ray) Perry.

Jo was a graduate of Mooresville High School in 1956. She married Larry Gershanoff on April 12, 1957 at the old Mt. Gilead Church in Mooresville. They were married 56 years until Larry’s passing in 2013. She retired from the US Postal Service as a rural route letter carrier in Mooresville. Strong in her faith, she and her husband Larry were active members of various churches in Mooresville, most recently the Spring Hill Christian Center. Additionally, she was also active in nursing home and women’s prison ministry with her husband for years. She also enjoyed planting and tending to her garden as well as canning the various vegetables she would harvest from her garden. She loved her family very much and they will miss her dearly.

Survivors include four children; one brother; two sisters; ten grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Friends and family will gather on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 4-8 PM at Carlisle Branson Funeral Service & Crematory, Mooresville. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 24, 2019 at 11 AM in the funeral home, with Pastor Rodney Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mooresville Cemetery.
