Phyllis A. Ackerer, 75, of Lodi, died Friday, May 7, 1999, at Medina General Hospital.
She was born July 21, 1923, in Cleveland and lived the past 20 years in Medina County. From 1954 until 1972, she and her late husband, Donald R. Acherer, owned and operated the Five A & A stable in North Royalton. Through the stable, many young people got their start in the horse profession and learned to love animals and people. After her retirement, she worked for Schneider Saddlery in Cleveland and the Carpet Barn on Granger Road in Cleveland.

She was preceded in death by her husband.
Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1377 Lester road, Valley City. Pastor Dennis D. Murawski will officiate.
Burial: St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Visiting hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Waite & Son Funeral Homes, Brunswick Chapel, 3300 Center Road (state Route 303 at Interstate 71).
