He passed away at the age of 93. He came from Minneapolis, Minnesota originally. He was predeceased by his devoted wife Loretta, his son James, and his siblings, Raymond and Audrey Butler. He will be dearly missed by his children, Julie (Tom Rodel), Glenn (Patty), and Steven (Cindy), his grandchildren, Kaitlin, Ryan (Stephanie), Justin, Leandra and Bradford, and his sister Mary Joan Meagher. He served his country with the U.S. Navy as a Petty Officer 1st Class, Radioman. He served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a very gifted artist, and painted landscapes and carved wooden animals as well. He published a children’s book and did illustrations in another one. Arrangements by Gearty-Delmore Funeral Home. The Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Anastasia Catholic Church in Troy, Michigan. Published on 05-19-2019.
