Fredrick J. Schmidt Jr., age 73, of Willoughby, passed away February 28, 2018.
He was born in Cleveland on April 28, 1944, to the late Fredrick and Margaret Schmidt.
He was a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who will be greatly missed by many.
Fred graduated from North High School in 1962.
He proudly retired from Parker Hannifin after 44 years of dedicated service.
Fred's favorite pastime was fishing on Lake Erie, and he also enjoyed going to Antique Tractor Shows.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Nadine Schmidt (nee Gorsha); children, Samantha Schmidt, Charmain (Robert) Barbel and Fredrick (Jeannette) Schmidt; grandchildren, Ashley, Mike, and Leah; great granddaughter, Aurora Rose; and sister Dorothy (Bill) Pickett.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary Krash.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 4, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Monreal Funeral Home, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake. Memorial Prayers will be held at 5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Fred can be made to St. Jude Research Hospital.
