Jack Keiter Obituary from Martinsburg Journal
Jack R. Keiter, 420 South Georgia Avenue, died at 11:30 pm Saturday in the Washington D.C. Veterans Administration Hospital, where he had been a patient for three weeks. He was in his usual health until hospitalized.
He was born in Charles Town August 21, 1931, son of Harry M. (Moe) and Olive V. Williams Keiter. A graduate of Martinsburg High School, he attended Shepherd College, and was employed as sales representative for the Martinsburg Granite Works.
A lifelong active member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, he was a member and former secretary of the administrative board, youth coordinator, member of the council on ministries and education commission. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member of Equality Lode No. 44, A.F. and A.M., a former member and treasurer of the Jaycees and former member and treasurer of the Shenandoah Concert Association.
In addition to his parents, 613 South Raleigh Street, he is survived at the home by his wife, the former Miss Janet Young, whom he married September 22, 1956, at Otterbein Church, and one daughter, Candi L. Keiter. Other survivors include one sister, Miss Betty A. Keiter, 613 South Raleigh street, aznd two aunts, Mrs. Julian (Helen) Messick, Miami, Fla., and Mrs. C. Overton (Mary) Lee, Richmond, Va.
Services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Kogelschatz and Linder Funeral Home by his pastor, the Rev. John P. Hamm, with interment in Rosedale Cemetery. Members of the Youth Department of Otterbein Church will meet at the funeral home at 12:30 to attend the services in a group.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Keiter Rites
Funeral services for Jack R. Keiter, 420 South Georgia Avenue, were conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Kogelschatz and Linder Funeral Home by the Rev. John P. Hamm, with interment in Rosedale Cemetery.
The services were largely attended and there were many flowers. Attending in groups were the Berkeley County Council of Parents and Teachers, Martinsburg High School Interact Club, the Tennis Club, Martinsburg Assembly No. 31 Rainbow for Girls, and the Otterbein Youth Department. Bearers were Dave Sibole, Mearle Spickler, Atlee Lehman, Willis (Buddy) Gano, Gary Fleming, Dick Trenary, Baxter Phillips and Douglas Roach.
Honorary bearers were Ron Lehman, Larry Lehman, Brad Caton, George Heckman, Jim Armentrout and Sam Miller.
