Almeta Evelyn Triche Barton, 57, of 2624 E. Lawrence Ave., died at 3:30pm Monday at her home. Mrs. Barton was a science and math teacher in the Springfield School District. She received a B.S. degree from Dillard University and a M.S. degree from Atlanta University. She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and the Springfield-Decatur Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.
Surviving are her husband, Kenneth E. Barton, Sr.; one daughter, Llewelyn Triche Barton of New York City; two sons, Kenneth E. Barton, Jr. of Minneapolis, Minn. and James W, Barton of Washington D.C.; one brother, Samuel Triche of Chicago; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 10 am, Thursday at St. Lukes's Episcopal Churh, Father William E. Krueger officiating. Burial will be in Chicago.
