He graduated from Parkersburg High School where he was a member of the Big Red Band, and West Virginia Wesleyan College with a bachelors in Physics and Accounting. He retired from Dupont Washington Works after 35 years of service. He was a life long member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, where he served as treasurer. He was a long time member of the Parkersburg Moose Lodge # 1118. He loved working to promote the sport of bowling on a National, State and Local level. He was a member of the WV State USBC Bowling Association where he served several years as Association Secretary and later Association Manager; Parkersburg USBC Bowling Association where he served as Association Manager; Parkersburg Mens Bowling Association where over the years held positions of President, Secretary, and Treasurer. He was also a member of WV State USBC Bowling Association Hall of Fame, Parkersburg USBC Association Hall of Fame, and for many years chaired and directed the Bowling Division of the WV State Special Olympics Winter Games.
He is survived by his son, Bryan Bargeloh (Jody), daughter Tonya Bee (Dana), and Nan Knopp (Jay) all of Parkersburg; six grandchildren, Alan Bee, Amber Bee Thomas (Tracey), Andy Bargeloh (Jessica), Ryan Balsley (Jessica), Kyle Balsley (Molly), and Austin Parker; nine great grandchildren; two brothers, Wesley Bargeloh (Sherry) and Arthur “Wayne” Bargeloh (Barbara); and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Alta Faye (Dawson) Bargeloh, two sisters, Betty Gall, and Marjorie Walters, and a brother Clifford Earl Bargeloh.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church with Reverend Dr. Steve Gedon, Reverend Helen Oates, and Reverend Dr. Gary Shepherd. Entombment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg and Wednesday, one hour prior to the service at the church.
