Mindwell Parsons was born in September, 1719 in Northampton, Hampshire, Massachusetts, according to the vital records of Northampton. Her parents were Noah and Mindwell Edwards Parsons. She married Lieutenant Simeon King on December 8, 1737 in Northampton. They settled in Northampton and had three children, none of whom survived. Around 1745, they moved to Montague, Franklin, Massachusetts, where they had a son and two daughters. After her first husband died in 1758, she married Samuel Smead as his second wife. Mindwell died in Northampton on May 10, 1775 and is buried in the Bridge Street Cemetery there. Her gravestone inscription reads: "In Memory of Mrs. Mindwell wife of Mr. Samuel Smeed of Montague who died May 10th 1775 in the 57th year of her age"
One of Mindwell's daughters with Simeon King, named Mindwell, married Samuel Smead's son Samuel, who was from his first wife, they were step-siblings.
