Donald Ray Brooks, 82, of Liberty, Mississippi, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019 at his residence near Liberty. He was born June 23, 1936 in Amite County, the son of James Brooks and Gladys Larimore Brooks. He was a carpenter for most of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Allie Rae Brooks, his daughter Becky Brooks Moore, his son Donald Ray Brooks Jr. , and his daughter Stephanie McDaniel and husband Dicky; three grandchildren, Kyle Brooks, Tate McDaniel, and Courtney Moore Sharp; three great grandchildren, Scarlett Sharp, Brody Brooks, and Lane Brooks; a loving and caring sister, Pauline Wilkinson.; and his beloved dog Trey.

He is preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, two brothers, and one son-in-law Mike Moore.

Visitation is Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at New Zion Baptist Church from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, at the church, officiated by Rev. Jack Whittington. Interment will be in New Zion Cemetery.
