In 1820, Samuel was recorded in the census in Paoli (later called Peolia), then part of Cumberland County. It would now be considered part of Albany, in Clinton County, Kentucky. Sam appears to have had at least five children, and likely more than five altogether. However, with the exception of Arthur Alanson Huff (who went by Alanson), their names have not yet been identified.
As for other children, recent (2018) yDNA testing of a descendant of Samuel's brother Daniel, would appear to substantiate the identity of another child who had previously been suggested by the late Max Huff to have been a possible child of Samuel, namely (according to Max, excerpted from WikiTree https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Huff-132):
James Elias [who went by Elias] (19 Jan 1813 KY - 24 Sep 1873 AR) md (1) Nancy ??? (1822 KY - ), who may have had son Alexander GOBEL (1845 AR) from a previous marriage. In 1854, Elias md (2) Sarah Jane COUCH (10 Jan 1840 MS - 4 Apr 1901 AR), dau of Gabriel and Sarah COUCH, and they lived in Woodruff Co, AR. Ch incl; James Louis; Napoleon "Poly"; Sarah Annie; Samuel; Virginia September; Daniel Henry; and Della Minerva.
Elias Huff was said to have settled one mile east of McCrory, Woodruff Co., AR in the 1850's and was buried in the Huff Cemetery, McCrory.
Another possible child suggested by the late Max Huff was (again, this is an excerpt from WikiTree):
?? H. Mathew (1825 KY - ) md Sarah Jane ??? (1831 RI - ), and their ch incl Ann; Mary; and Martha. What happened to this family after 1860 is not known.
It seems that the brothers Samuel, Philip, and Daniel had experienced financial difficulties in the early 1820s. There was a reference to a Huff Bros. Distillery in the area; possibly there was a business failure associated with this business. Details are not known by this writer as to when that business existed. References were seen to several court proceedings during this time period, but they have not been examined if they still exist (the court house burned down a number of times).
Before 1830, it appears the family located to Jackson Co., AL and had moved on to MS by or about 1850. It has been said that Alanson indicated that his father, whose name was not mentioned, went to south MS and died there.
