It is with deep regret and profound sorrow that we sadly announce the passing of Addie Lee Frazier Nesmith, age 84, of Kingstree, SC who died Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.

Funeral services for Addie Lee Nesmith will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 701 Saint John Street, Kingstree, SC where the Reverend Robert Malachi, pastor, will provide words of comfort. The Interment will follow at Kingstree Cemetery, Main Street, Kingstree, South Carolina.

Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servant. Psalm 116: 15 (NIV)

Addie Lee Frazier Nesmith, daughter of the late Robert Frazier and Sarah Montgomery Frazier, was born on December 24, 1934, in Kingstree, South Carolina. On Wednesday afternoon, April 24, 2019, at the McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, South Carolina, God claimed His gift o humanity, Addie Lee Frazier Nesmith, to rest from her labor to join the Savior in that Home not built with hands, but whose maker and builder is God.

Addie accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was a devoted member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was active in the following ministries: vacation Bible school teacher, member of the Nurture Committee, Outreach Committee, Work Area on Ministry, Evangelism Committee, the Administrative Board, the United Methodist Women, former Chairperson of Council on Ministries, former Chairperson of Staff Pastor Parish Relations Committee, the senior choir, mass choir, honorary member of the annual cantata choir, and any other capacity that she could fill at the church. She would always help in any way that she could and did not have to be asked

Addie was affiliated with many social organizations. She was a member of the Williamsburg County Retired Educators Association, a board member of Williamsburg County Vital Aging, and Liberty Works #171, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a volunteer at St. Ann Felician Center and Meals on Wheels. She was an avid poll worker and a personal taxi cab driver for her community. She was always caring for others and would take them wherever they needed to go. She opened her home to many children whom she loved and cared for as her own. She was truly one of a kind and had a loving spirit that allowed her to served her community.

Addie attended the public schools of Williamsburg County and graduated for Tomlinson High School on June 3, 1953. She furthered her education and graduated from South Carolina State College, presently known as South Carolina State University, on January 31, 1958. After graduating, she began her teaching career in the Orangeburg County School System. Later, she began teaching in the Williamsburg County Public School System. She was an elementary school teacher at Lane Consolidated School and Greeleyville Elementary School. She worked for the South Carolina Department of Education Manpower Program( known today as Williamsburg Technical College). After, retiring, she became a part-time teacher at Williamsburg County Adult Education Center.

Addie was united in holy matrimony to the late Thomas "Tommy" Nesmith in July 1971.

Addie Lee Frazier Nesmith leaves to cherish her precious memories: a cousin, like a brother, Vernon Ray (Ruthie) Woods of Georgetown, SC; two friends, like sisters, Lillian Robinson of Kingstree, SC and Cynthia (Reverend Granville) Hicks of Greenville, SC; an adopted daughter, Libbie (Clifton) Blackmon of Kingstree, SC; an adopted son, Michael Epps of Kingstree, SC; a goddaughter, April Williams of Kingstree, SC; three sisters-in-law: Blanche Nesmith of Nesmith, SC; Betty Robinson Frazier of Cincinnati, OH; and Bernice Battiste of Philadelphia, PA; a host of nieces, nephews, caretakers in and out of the home, staff and friends at Fresenius Dialysis Center of Kingstree, SC, other relatives, and dear friends.
