Lawery Dean Holmes, 68, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at his home in Ripley, MS. He was born December 31, 1950, to Robert (Rob) and Viola Clark Holmes in Ripley, MS. He had worked for many years as a mechanic and was of the Baptist faith. Services will be Saturday, June 1, 2019, at 11:00 AM, in McBride Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Ray Vuncannon officiating. Burial will follow in Jacob's Chapel Cemetery in Ripley, MS. Visitation will be Friday, May 31, 2019, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Saturday, June 1, 2019, from 7:00 AM until service at 11:00 AM at McBride Funeral Home. Lawery is survived by two sons: Wayne Holmes (Amanda) of Ripley, MS, Andrew Holmes of Ripley, MS; six grandchildren: Kindra, Lawery, Brenda, Ashleigh Holmes, Haley Holmes and Jandy J. Gross. He was preceded in death by his wife; Marilyn Diane Vuncannon Holmes; his parents; and one brother: Ray Holmes. Pallbearers will be Eddie Luna, Randy Vuncannon, Petie Rutherford, Stacy Bates, James Page, Lonnie Holmes, Paul Luna.
