Gregory Allen Thornton, 59, of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on July 21, 1959 in Leavenworth, Kansas to James Lee Ireland and Saundra Kay Thornton.

He went to meet his heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Gregory loved to laugh, have fun, tell jokes and playing jokes on everyone. He also enjoyed fishing, singing and listening to classic rock n roll music.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Main Street Baptist Church in Elk City, Oklahoma. Rev. Larry Parvin will officiate. Services have been entrusted to the care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Cherishing his memory are his sons, Allen and his wife, Tonia of Elk City, Oklahoma, Andy and his wife, Gladys of Payne Springs, Texas, Adam and his wife, Melissa of Burns Flat, Oklahoma;

Five grandchildren, Bethany Thornton of Elk City, Oklahoma, Allison Thornton of Weatherford, Texas, Adrian Thornton and Austin Thornton of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, Dawson Thornton of Wheeler, Texas; two great-grandsons, James Elliott Allen McDaris and Johnie Emmitt Ty McDaris;

Four brothers, John Bryant and his wife, Linda of Kansas City, Kansas, Robert Crook and his wife, Paula of Thayer, Missouri, Darren Terry of Tonganoxie, Kansas and Doug Crook and his wife, Sunny of Carter, Oklahoma;

Three sisters, Lesa Cox of Elk City, Oklahoma, Mattie Lynn Battles and her husband, Calvin of Woodward, Oklahoma and Christi Benton and her husband, Eric of Lane, Kansas and a host of nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his biological father, James Ireland, his mother, Saundra Kay Crook and his father, Walter Leon Crook.

Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home, P.O. Box 707, Elk City, Oklahoma 73648.
