Wendelin Blatz, son of Jacob and Amelia Blatz was born in Macklin, Saskatchewan on September 18, 1927.

He was married to Mary Blatz on June 28, 1949 and together they were blessed with nine children.

He passed away peacefully at Sylvan Lake, Alberta on September 27, 2008 at the age of 81 years.

Wendelin leaves to mourn his loss, his loving wife Mary; five sons and four daughters, Theresa (Frank) Tradler, Dianne (Jerry) Duff, Jack (Linda), Gerry (Bonnie), Geraldine (Charles) Marple, Warren (Colleen), Glen (Marcia), Christine (Blair) Richmond, Doug (Carol); 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. His sisters and brothers: Josie Gartner, Clara Maki, Joe (Isabelle), Elnora Hauser, Ben (Jan), Ed (Anita), Mary Nolan, Esther Begonik, Willie (Donna), Pearl Gabourie, Judy Benson, Larry (Ann); numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Wendy was predeceased by his father Jack in February 1961; his mother Amelia in November 1999; brother Richard in March, 1978; and sister Betty in November 2006.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the Red Deer Regional Hospital, Red Deer Nursing Home, Sylvan Bethany Centre, Sylvan Family Health Centre, especially Dr. Bahler and Dr. Inglis and his staff. A special thanks to the Weber Funeral Home for their support and professionalism. Many thanks to all the numerous family members and friends who visited Dad; supported Mom and us through Dad's illness.

A Prayer Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Weber's Mount Pleasant Chapel, Camrose, AB. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 3, 2008 at St. Francis Xavier Roman Catholic Church, Camrose, AB. Interment will follow at the Camrose Valleyview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to S.T.A.R.S. or the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation. Weber Funeral Home 780-672-3131
