Judy M. Rich, age 69, of Rochester, passed away on Friday, May 31, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family.
Judy Marlene Larson was born on April 16, 1950, in Rochester, to Kenneth and Mabel (Tweite) Larson. She graduated from Mayo High School in 1968.
Judy worked for the Rochester State Hospital for 15 years. She then worked at Hiawatha Homes for 33 years until her retirement in December 2015.
On August 15, 1970, she married David Rich in Rochester. They were blessed with two children, Lori and Jason.
She enjoyed puzzles, reading, gardening, watching movies, playing cards, crafting, going on trips to the casino, and tubing on the river. Judy also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and she loved the companionship of her dogs and grand-puppies.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Lori (Travis) Christenson of Rochester; her sister, Dorothy (Jim) Blakney of Apache Junction, AZ and her brother, Bruce (Janice) Larson of Mesa, AZ. Judy is survived by many nieces and nephews along with great-nieces and great-nephews. She also leaves behind a loving family, her beloved dogs, Mollie and Diego, many good friends and great neighbors.
Judy was preceded in death by her loving husband, David who died on July 14, 2013; son, Jason who died on October 7, 2010; her parents; and sister, Margie Larson who died on December 3, 2014.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Peace United Church of Christ in Rochester with Rev. Paul Bauch officiating. The visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to the family, the American Cancer Society or to Peace United Church of Christ.
