Edward Franklin Lawrence, III, 64, died on October 27, 2016, after a brief illness. Ed was born in Buncombe County on February 5, 1952, to the late James Sr. and Mary Gaidos Lawrence. Ed served honorably in the US Navy. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by a brother, James Lawrence, Jr.; and a sister, Mary Ann Frye. Ed is survived by his sister, Maxine Steppleton (David) and numerous nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at a later date.
