Perry was a Mono county Supervisor. The 1892 Bodie fire started in the restaurant building operated by Mrs. James Perry.∼Born in either 1832 or 1833. He served as the Mono County Supervisor. The 1932 fire, which devastated much of the business district of Bodie, started in a restaurant run by his wife.

Deceased. – Supervisor James B. Perry, of Bodie, died on Tuesday, after a long spell of sickness. He was a native of Ireland and aged 61 years, and has been a resident of Bodie for many years, and was much respected, having been elected Supervisor in a Republican district.
