Esther L. Flink was born Aug. 9, 1920 in Langdon, ND the daughter of the late Charles A. and Katherine T. (Schultz) Flink. She attended the Hay School Dist. #5 and graduated from Osnabrock High School in 1938 as president of her class. Upon the death of her mother in 1937, she helped raise her younger brothers and sisters. She married Carl O. Aamot on March 22, 1946. The couple made their home in Osnabrock. She operated the Osnabrock Café in 1943 and in 1971-72. She worked as the Dietary Supervisor at the Good Samaritan Center in Osnabrock from 1972-1986 and continued to work part-time until her retirement in 1991. She was a member of the Dovre Lutheran Church and WELCA; and active member of the Good Samaritan Center Volunteer Club. She was a friend and companion to many in Osnabrock through the years and she will be missed by all.
She is survived by her children: Leon (Pam) of Boring, OR; Kenneth of Black Hawk, SD; Duane (Louise) of Grand Forks, ND; Paul of Portland, OR; Robert (Sharon) of Gladstone, OR; Katherine (Tom) Twaddle of Black Hawk, SD; Lucille (Ken) Howey & Genevieve (Jeff) White of Gresham, OR; Rebecca (Kevin) Dettler of Doland, SD; 20 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters: Bernice (Art) Nielsen of Grand Forks, ND; Marilyn (Bob) Paulson of Milton, ND; brothers: Richard (Jane) of Hartsburg, MO; Fred (Gladys) of Osnabrock, ND; and Virgil (Wilma) of Stella, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Elizabeth Elkin.
