BOARDMAN - Theresa A. Copploe, 90, formerly of Struthers, died Saturday evening, June 8, 2019, at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman.

Theresa was born Feb. 25, 1929, in Struthers, a daughter of Michael and Mary (Csernik) Meek.

A lifelong resident of Struthers, Theresa attended Struthers High School. At the age of 18, she married Julius Copploe on Sept. 27, 1947, and became a dedicated wife, mother, and homemaker.

She was a longtime member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church.

In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and more recently loved participating in Shepherd of the Valley's resident activities.

Her husband, Julius, preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2005.

She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn (John) Pruce of Youngstown; her son, Michael (Debbie) Copploe of Poland; three grandchildren, Kym (Thomas) Ventersco of Boardman, Michael Angelo (Shanna) Copploe of Poland, and Christopher (Elan) Copploe of Mesa, Ariz.; and five great-grandchildren, Jett and Ty Ventersco, twins Stella and Madison Copploe, and Casen Copploe.

In addition to her parents and husband, Theresa was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Copploe; three sons, Patrick and infants, Joseph and Frank Copploe; two sisters, Mary Judy Ansevin and Ann Joshua; and four brothers, Joseph, John, Edward, and Michael Meek.

A prayer service will be held on Wednesday at 9:45 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel, 270 N. Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Struthers. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family would like to express their appreciation and thank the entire staff of Shepherd of the Valley for their dedicated and compassionate care they gave to Theresa and also to Hospice of the Valley for their wonderful care.
