Phyllis Irene Sheehan, 92 ¾, passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at her home in Boyce, Virginia. Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 1, 1926 in Arlington, Virginia to the late Wallace Edwin Newman and Irene Evelyn Jellings Newman.

She was a member of the Sweet Adeline’s Singer; Free Methodist Church; and was a pack leader for the Cub Scouts.
She married James Francis Sheehan, Jr. on January 15, 1945 in Maryland. Mr. Sheehan passed away on August 20, 2009.
Surviving are her four children, eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 A. M. Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Boyce Baptist Church, Boyce, VA with Pastor Ben Jenkins officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P. M. Tuesday evening at Enders & Shirley Funeral Home, Berryville, VA and from 10:00 – 11:00 A. M. Wednesday morning at the church prior to the service.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 A. M. Thursday, June 13, 2019 in Columbia Gardens Cemetery, Arlington, VA with Pastor John Slye officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Union Mission, 65 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20001 or to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork Street, Winchester, VA 22601.
