Harley Eugene Smith, 80, of Boaz, died Monday, June 10, 2019 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born on January 31,1939 the son of Branson and Edna (Clary) Smith. He was raised a country farm kid in the Boaz, Muscoda, Richland Center area. Harley married Elizabeth Gunderson on June 13, 1959 at Five Points Lutheran Church. Together they lived in Racine and had two children. They moved back to the Boaz area. Liz taught in the Muscoda School District and Harley started his construction business. He enjoyed working, boating, square dancing, snowmobiling and going to all of his children’s activities. Harley loved family gatherings, the grand dogs, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Harley is survived by his two children, Nikki (Paul Lucia) Smith of Massachusetts, Jeff Smith of Waunakee, three grandchildren, Makayla, Payton, and Conner, brother Dan (Vicki) Smith of Sun Prairie, brother-in-law Rich (Sugar) Gunderson, nieces and nephews.

Harley was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elizabeth, and brother Bud.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Pratt Memorial Chapel with burial to follow in the Sextonville Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at 1:00 PM. The family suggests memorials in Harley’s name be directed to the Richland Center Fire Dept, Ocooch Mountain Human Society, or the Madison's Children’s Hospital. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
