Services for Amy Mae DeSoto, 95, will be conducted at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 12:00 noon. Officiating will be Rev. W.D. "Step" Martin, former pastor of Calvary Baptist Church were Mrs. DeSoto was a member for 75 years. Interment will follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. DeSoto died on Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Shreveport. She was a loving, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Fred A. DeSoto; three sons, Fred Junior DeSoto, James Louis Pierce, and Bobby Joe DeSoto.
She is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Jane DeSoto, Gloria Jean Eubanks, and Cynthia Dianne Whittle; three sons, John Earl DeSoto and wife, Phyllis, Donald Ray DeSoto and wife, Jane, Ricky Dean DeSoto and wife, Anita; sister-in-law, Hazel Watts; and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
