Ed Homer Inman was born on March 20, 1916 in Tennessee, the son of Allen "Dixie" Inman (1885–1938) and Elsie (Mayfield) Inman. {Dixie and Elsie were married in 1902 in Giles County, Tennessee.}
Working for Noel Ice Company and living at 501 9th Avenue North in Nashville, Davidson County, he was 36 years old and single when someone in Nashville stabbed him in the chest and abdomen on August 30, 1952. He died the next day at Hubbard Hospital, and burial was on September 5th in Mount Ararat Cemetery, Nashville.
