Retha Mae Cook Brown, 82, of 1016 E. Queen Street died Sunday at Ellenburg Nursing Home in Anderson. Born in Anderson, she was the widow of Joe Earl Brown and a daughter of the late W.G. and Ressie Retha Cox Cook. She was retired from LaFrance Industries. She enjoyed sewing and gardening and was a member of Faith Fellowship Baptist Church.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Doris Wheeler and Joyce Garrett(Archy) of Anderson;2 sons, Tommy Brown(Faye Brown)of the home and Stevie “Joe” Brown(Fran)of Saluda, SC; a sister, Judy Love of Starr; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by 2 sisters, Ellen Welinsky and Hazel McCard; and 6 brothers, James, Ernest, Milford, Hubert, Jerry and Clyde Cook.
