Charles Chai Quoc Trinh, 79, of Manassas, VA, formerly of Bethlehem, PA, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2019. He was born in Vietnam on February 28, 1940, the son of the late Dan Trinh and Ha Bich Quach. Charles immigrated to the United States with his wife and daughters in 1975 with the help of Bethlehem's former St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. He then diligently worked with St. Matthew's to sponsor many other family members to the U.S.

Charles was employed as a data processor with UPS for 30 years. Upon his retirement, he received an award for never having missed a day of work. He cherished being surrounded by family, especially his children and grandchildren. He had a passion for travel and was able to see much of the world with his wife after their retirement. He had a great appreciation for authentic Cantonese cuisine and enjoyed meeting new people in the many countries he visited.

Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Judy Thuy Trinh; daughters, Nancy Trinh and her husband, Colin Tracey of Austin, TX, and Katherine Trinh and her husband, William Blank of Gainesville, VA; eight brothers and sisters; many nieces and nephews; and three wonderful grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one brother.

A viewing will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 10-11 AM at Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St. Bethlehem, PA 18018. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Memorial Park
