The deceased lived in State College for several years and then for more than two years lived at the home of Reverend and Mrs. J. M. Kirkpatrick of Centre Hall. Her husband, Edwin Smith, died several years ago.
Mrs. Smith was born in College Township, a daughter of John and Angeline Boob Tate.
One son, Andrew, principal of the Union Springs School, and two brothers, W. W. Tate of East Bishop Street, Bellefonte, and George Tate of Pittsburg survived.
Funeral services were held at the Goodhart Funeral Home in Centre Hall with the Reverend J. M. Kirkpatrick officiating.
Interment was made at Aaronsburg.
